What will your ALU Moment be?

How to

Our recruitment process is straightforward, designed to be a valuable experience for both you and ALU. When you apply to join our team, you will have the opportunity to explore ALU, reflect on your personal and professional interests and how your career path aligns with our mission. Below is a quick overview of our recruitment process for both full-time employment and internships.

Our Recruitment Process

For Jobs & Internships

Intro Call

In the first phase of the recruitment process, we really want to get to know you as a person – your background, personal and professional interests. It is an opportunity for both you and ALU to assess whether there is a mutual interest and potential cultural fit.

You will be asked to complete an assignment that we use to give you a better idea of the kind of role you would be in, simulating real work conditions, allowing you to explore your strengths and weaknesses, helping us evaluate whether you will enjoy the job and have the skills we need.

The work shared during your assignment will not be used by the hiring manager for any purpose other than assessing your fit for the role.

Assignment Review

Once you have completed your assignment, the team evaluates the assignment and follows up with another call. During this time you talk us through your assignment and thought process.

(Optional) Feedback on your assignment may be covered during a standalone call with the hiring team or in the next stage – manager call.

Manager Call

At this stage you engage in a one on one discussion with the manager of the team you are being recruited into. This is your opportunity to ask any questions about the roles of this particular team and get to know more about the mission of the team and how it ties to the organisational goals.

Culture Call

Our culture and values are an integral part of what makes working at ALU a wonderful experience. Here you’ll connect with other staff of the university for a conversation about the culture at ALU and a mutual fit with you.

Once reference checks are complete you’ll receive your offer to become a member of the ALU community and get all the information you need to know about the package, start dates and onboarding as well as flights, accommodation and making the move (if applicable).
