Thadee Gatera, a computer science faculty member at ALU. Before joining ALU, was working at University of Rwanda(UR) in computer science department since 2015. At university of Rwanda; I served as departmental academic officer (in charge of student marks organization and presentation), at the same time was coordinating information security programme run at National Police College (NPC) under the MoU between UR and NPC. Working at UR as an academic staff, I taught software engineering, database management system, and analysis of algorithms.
Before joining UR, I worked one month at another high institution of learning known as INES Ruhengeri. At INES Ruhengeri; I worked as the ICT director the head of department of applied computer science. I was at the same time teaching operating systems.
Before joining INES Ruhengeri, I was working as a system software intern at Rwanda Information Communication Technology Association (RICTA) and was at the same time working on a project entitled “Farming Skills Dissemination System” which I initiated with Ministry of Agriculture and Animal Resources (Rwanda) after winning as third in a competition named ICT for Agriculture (ICT4AG).
Academic qualifications, I hold master’s of engineering in software which i received from Beijing University Posts and Telecommunications (BUPT) in 2014 with an award of excellence. I joined BUPT on bilateral scholarship between the Government of Rwanda and People’s Republic of China after completing a Bsc (Hons) in computer science with education. I received my undergraduate degree at former Kigali Institute of Education, which is the current college of education under University of Rwanda.
