Monique is a passionate educator who has taught children, teenagers and adults in both the South African, as well as the Mauritian context. Prior to moving to Mauritius, she was involved in teacher training in Cape Town, South Africa, where she worked with first to final year B.Ed students, lecturing and mentoring them through the theoretical and practical components of their degree.
Monique’s qualifications include a Bachelor of Education Degree with an Honours, specialising in Learning Support and a Masters in Education, focusing on the critical responses of young readers to literature. She believes that the best way to teach is to build strong, healthy relationships with her students, with mutual trust, respect and accountability at the forefront. She gets particularly excited about helping young people to overcome personal and academic hurdles and to see them thrive as they venture into the world.
