Dr. Laine Munir is a political anthropologist who brings to the Global Challenges program her interdisciplinary research and teaching experience in gender, law, and conflict. She holds a Ph.D. in Law and Society from New York University and a M.A. in Human Rights from Columbia University. She has served as Research Fellow at the University of Rwanda and George Mason University Korea, as well as an Education Volunteer with the Peace Corps in Mozambique. Her government and NGO consulting work has focused on poverty alleviation among rural communities in sub-Saharan African and Latin America.
