Jackson Akor joins ALU as a Global Challenges Faculty. He has 7 years experience in Social Innovation across diverse enterprises. He holds a joint honors degree in Business Education & Accounting from the University of Calabar, Nigeria.
He studied for a Master’s degree in Entrepreneurship Education at the Centre for Entrepreneurship & Innovation, a MacArthur Foundation regional centre of excellence, University of Ibadan, Nigeria. He won the 2018 French Research Institute in Africa (IFRA) research grant to conduct his Master’s degree thesis that focused on driving financial inclusion to accelerate small-scale women owned businesses in the insurgency affected North-East Nigeria. The research also won the 2019 MAXQDA Research for Change Fellowship honourable mention award.
He is an Alumni of LEAP Africa Social Innovators Fellowship in Lagos-Nigeria, The United Nations Youth Leadership Program (YLP) in Berlin-Germany, and Young African Leadership Initiative Fellowship in Accra- Ghana. His teaching and research interest cuts across the application of entrepreneurship to solve pressing global challenges in Africa and around the world.
