Our application process is designed to help you explore and unlock your creativity and discover what makes you a leader. We are looking for students that are excited by the possibility of shaping their own future, not at some point, but today. We are looking for students who want to change the world. Intake

ALU will enroll three cohorts for 2022:

  • January
  • May
  • September

Tuition

ALU’s tuition is $3000 per year. Additional expenses will be incurred based on the student’s university location for the first term. Scholarships and grants are available to those with significant financial need.

Process

Here’s what our 5 step application process entails:

  • Stage 1 - Introduction: This first step is a basic form to tell us a bit about who you are.
  • Stage 2 - ALU Experience Course: This second step is designed to give you an experience of ALU. This course will take 7-10 hours to complete and our expectation is that you can complete it in no more than a week.
  • Stage 3 - ALU Fit Assessment: On completion of the ALU Experience course, you will be required to complete a series of online assessments in order to determine your fit for ALU. The tests will take about 80 minutes to complete.
  • Stage 4 - Additional Information Section: On successful completion of the Fit assessment, you will be asked to provide additional information to support your ALU application.
  • Stage 5 - Finances: This final stage will help you to understand the financial contribution you will need to make in order to support your ALU studies. Additionally, you will find out if you qualify to apply for ALU financial aid.

ALU has two campuses: Rwanda and Mauritius.

On our Rwanda campus, students who apply and are admitted for the 2022-2023 academic year will commence their studies with our renowned Leadership Core over three trimesters starting as indicated below. 

  • Jan intake – 10 January 2022 – 16 December 2022
  • May intake – 16 May 2022 – 29 April 2023
  • September intake – 5 September 2022 – 26 August 2023

Each cohort will have the opportunity to choose either the BSc (Hons) in Software Engineering or BSc (Hons) in Entrepreneurial Leadership degree programmes during their third trimester and once ALU’s re-accreditation process of the two programmes has been finalised. 

On our Mauritius campus, students who apply and are admitted for the 2022-2023 academic year will commence their studies with our renowned Leadership Core over three trimesters as indicated below.

  • May Intake – 16 May 2022 – 29 April 2023
  • September intake – 5 September 2022 – 26 August 2023

Each cohort will enroll in the BSc (Hons) in Entrepreneurial Leadership BSc (Hons) degree program once the re-accreditation process of the programmes has been finalized..

Accredited programmes in Rwanda

ALU is accredited in Rwanda to offer the following undergraduate degree programmes

  • BSc (Hons) Computer Science
  • BA (Hons) Entrepreneurship
  • BA (Hons) Global Challenges
  • BA (Hons) International Business and Trade

Re-accreditation  of Programme

In its quest to better serve more students in the COVID and post COVID environment, ALU is currently undergoing review of the  following programmes.

  • BSc (Hons) Computer Science to BSc (Hons) in Software Engineering
  • BSc (Hons) Global Challenges to BSc (Hons) in Entrepreneurial Leadership

We anticipate that the re-accreditation process will be completed by July 2022.

Teach out programmes

From January 2022, ALU Rwanda will place all the current accredited programmes (indicated below) on teach out. This means that we will continue to offer these qualifications to students already enrolled until they graduate; however ALU will not be admitting new students to these qualifications from January 2022 onwards.

  • BA (Hons) International Business and Trade

Accredited programmes in Mauritius 

ALC is accredited in Mauritius to offer the following undergraduate degree programmes awarded  by Glasgow Caledonian University (GCU), Scotland.

  • BA (Hons) Business Management
  • BSc (Hons) Computing
  • MEng Electrical Power Systems Engineering
  • BA (Hons) Entrepreneurial Leadership
  • BA (Hons) Social Sciences

Re-accreditation of BA (Hons) Entrepreneurial Leadership

In its quest to better serve more students in the COVID and post COVID environment, ALU is currently undergoing a review of the BEL as follows. 

  • BA (Hons) Entrepreneurial Leadership to BSc (Hons) in Entrepreneurial Leadership

We anticipate that the re-accreditation process will be completed by July 2022.
