We prioritize the 70% of learning that comes from experiential learning, as well as the 20% that stems from developmental relationships to complement the 10% from in-class learning. Our Hubs Program places you at the heart of key communities across the globe. 

By placing you in close proximity to the communities you want to serve,  the ALU hubs model empowers you to acquire a holistic understanding of social, economic, and environmental dimensions thus preparing you for your journey as a leader.

THE HUBS STRUCTURE

Every hub provides the following facilities/opportunities to ease your time there:

A shared community space dedicated to co-working, large groups interactions and student events.

Minimum of one large meeting room dedicated to private meetings held by medium to large groups

Meeting pods, smaller rooms for 1 on 1 peer interactions and virtual work

Kitchenette for storing and student sharing meals

Lounging area for student relaxation time

Reliable electricity & internet access

Each Hub location offers a unique blend of the past and future of the African continent. The  Hub Experience has been intentionally designed relative to contemporary African realities, industries and the manifestation of the 14 Global Challenges and Global Opportunities most prevalent in the location of the Hub.

Kigali Hub

  • Partner: Circular Design Hub (formerly known as Design Hub Kampala)

Discover the dynamic world of innovation at ALU’s Kampala Hub, located in the bustling industrial area of Circular Design Hub. This 2000 sqm renovated warehouse is a hub of creativity, where entrepreneurs, freelancers, and like-minded creatives come together to shape the future. With 705 registered members and 43 resident companies specializing in various fields, Kampala Hub opens doors to endless possibilities.

Nairobi Hub

  • Partner: iHub Nairobi

Located in the vibrant and ever-evolving safari capital of Africa. With a mission to drive economic prosperity through social capital and technology, this innovative center offers you an inclusive co-working environment where creativity and collaboration flourish. Experience an environment that stimulates creativity and innovation, where over 450 startups have traced their roots back to iHub.

Addis Ababa hub

Step into the fascinating world of Addis Ababa, where history and innovation intertwine, and be part of the cutting-edge Adore Addis Hub. Located opposite the European Union offices in Bole Atlas, this hub drives academic and professional innovation in Ethiopia.

Lagos Hub

  • Partner: CC Hub

Dive into the bustling world of social tech ventures and co-create innovative solutions to address Nigeria’s social challenges. Located in dynamic Lagos, Yaba, CCHub is Nigeria’s first open living lab and pre-incubation space designed to be a multifunctional, multipurpose space where work to catalyze creative social tech ventures take place. CCHub has raised 1 Billion Naira towards social innovation, supporting over 95 ventures and creating 450 jobs, making it a hub of transformative projects.

Silicon Valley Hub

  • Partner: Carnegie Foundation for the Advancement of Teaching

Experience the epitome of innovation at our Silicon Valley Hub. Explore beautiful landmarks in the San Francisco Bay Area and tap into the  culture. Located in the heart of the world’s technological epicenter, this hub is where entrepreneurial dreams come to life. You will engage with experts in entrepreneurship, innovation, and ethics during formal lectures, fireside chats, and hands-on workshops. You will also visit tech companies like Google X, Lyft, Coursera, Uber and Amazon, gaining unparalleled insights into the global tech industry.
